Sunday, February 17 - How to freeze tomatoes & How to start an avocado plant

From my For the Home pinboard, comes Freezing Tomatoes.
  1. Remove stems
  2. Wash each tomato individually, I recommend a orange vinegar spray, I did.
  3. Hand dry each tomato, twice and place in freezer safe baggie.
  4. Suck out all the air you can before sealing the bag shut.
  5. Double bag the tomatoes before popping in the freezer.
These tomatoes are best for cooked dishes.  They can be peeled, diced, chopped, and smashed - do this while frozen.  When the tomatoes come back to room temperature, the texture is slightly changed.

From my Family and Kid Activities pinboardHow to Start an Avocado Plant.  Very handy, since avocado pits are in abundance with all the Freezing avocados I've been doing.
  1. Remove pit from fruit
  2. Wash
  3. Poke with toothpicks to make pit hover in center of glass of water (pointy side up)
  4. Keep in warm, sunny spot with plenty of water.
